On tuesday before ballet, Ms ho whipped out two sheets of paper, gave us the eagle eyed 'i'm sorry i have to do this to you' look and proceeded to announce that 'EXAM RESULTS ARE OUT! Do you want to know now or after class?'
I was like TELL NOW NOW NOW! But closetcrumples only wanted to know after class ended. I think ms ho knew i would have been paralysed with panic and fear during class if she didn't release my results.
Being Ms Ho's pioneer batch of A2 exam takers, there isn't anything to benchmark against. But i think she's quite sad no one received a distinction - meaning no one qualifies for Solo Seal or the Genee 2010 competition (ha. as if we even qualified in terms of age)
The first person i msg'ed (after relaying J and Allie's results) was Hannah 妹! I'm sure she would have scored a distinction if she took the exams with us.
And Raquel did really well for her Intermediate exams!! =D Yay! Go for A1 next year k.
So thank you very much Ms examiner-whose-name-i-really-cannot-remember-now. Thank you for pleasantly surprising me. And thank you for being kind with your marks for pointe section. I really didn't think i would make it there. Thank you thank you thank you! I promise to perfect my 15 fouettes turns.. one day.
Successful completion of the Advanced 2 (formerly Advanced) examination gives eligibility for candidates who have reached the age of 18 years or over to apply to become an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance and use the initials ARAD after their name. Much love, Abigail Tan ARAD.

| October |

Just a quick update on the month of October...

Attended the Royal Ballet Masterclass conducted by Justin Messinger and Kathryn Wade on 17 and 18th. It was two hot.hot.hot days of ballet at Singapore Ballet Academy, but totally worth the price and threat of heat-stroke. learnt new ways of doing petite battement sur le cou-de-pied, Sleeping Beauty's Woodland Everglade Fairy solo and awesome cool allegros.

Ying and i took a shower in SBA's gross shower stalls before heading off with Ms ho to Allie's 21st birthday garden party on the 18th. It was a hot.hot.hot night with good music, food, company and a simulated breeze. LOL!

Had my Management Skills presentation and submission on 21st... it was 5 butt-numbing hours and 22 groups worth of presentations... zzz. Everyone was wonky with joy after it ended, and acted like it was the last day of school

Cheng Teng's XX birthday and farewell CUM A2 completion celebratory lunch at Momoya on 25th. We ate and ate and ate like no tomorrow... oh man.. we are so gonna pay for it tonight at ballet

Our evening with Paloma Herrera last night!! although i secretly think she should consider retiring...

PLUS... there was that HOT russian guy from Centrestage - Sascha Radetsky... the guy who played Charlie. I was quite sad that his handsome youthful charm has gone. Come to think of it, Amanda Schull (the girl who played Jodi Sawyer in Centrestage) also lost her lustre in Mao's Last Dancer.
So i guess it's true when people say the performing career span of a dancer is short lived. You got to start young and make the most of your time. Ballet is cruel.
I also think the costume and headgear for the giselle item was unflattering.. Ashley Boulder looked manly, thick and heavy in it. But she redeemed herself in the Balanchine Item. ohgosh.. complete breathtaker!! George Balanchine was an amazing man.
My favourite couple for the night has got to be Iana Salenko and Marian Walter. Their chemistry... Wow.
We stayed back for the autograph signing and sleuth phototaking (ok... not very sleuth-ish) and look what they did:

hahahaha!! completely worth the half hour queue. =P

here's how you help a friend pack.
Lis: Do i have enough clothes? Me: How often do you intend to do laundry? Lis: Once a week i guess... Me: DO you have 8 tops that are wearable to school/out shopping? Lis: *counts* YES! Me: Ok, then that's enough.
LOL!

this is the second saturday i sell my sweat to NUS, and i would say that i'm enjoying pseudo-varsity life quite abit.
except for the part where we take the bus from KR terminal to ballet. that i'd rather give a miss.
The double J's and i went for NUS Dance Ensemble open class today... and we began our own body conditioning by running from UCC to CFA in NUS. I'm not sure of the distance, but the only thing that really sucked was running uphill in the pouring rain.
But i don't really think i'm very fit la. The whole stomach muscle conditioning was bad. Although choreo was fun!
Worked really hard during A2 today. Doesn't feel satisfactory yet... but it's getting there. I'm so tired. zzz
Dinner at popo's house was SO YUMMY! I loved the soup... and since ms ho says i should drink more soup, that's what i'm gonna do. =)
Paloma Herrera! 26 October at Esplanade! I'm SO there!

Got home last night after the NDP and literally showered, dried my hair and crashed until 10 this morning. Woke up, had breakfast, showered, did some make up and left for the Genee matinee.
I went throught 4 batteries this weekend (it was energizer!) took over 200 pics...
Since a picture paints a thousand words, i'm gonna end this with 4 thousand words.
